With the first week of classes here at King’s almost complete I have actual weight loss progress to report! I went down a belt notch yesterday! w00t! I do not know how much weight I have lost exactly, but if I had to guess it would probably be around 5 pounds; not a large number but still progress. The plan of action is as follows:
- Next week when I get paid I shall be joining the gym!
- purchase a scale
- Continue to diet and eat healthy
- Once gym membership is acquired: get back into a healthy cardio/strength training routine
- Continue to walk to/from the Tube as much as possible (approx. a mile both ways).
As far as London adventures go, I’ve been out twice now with my new friends. Both times have been quite a blast full! Everyone I have met has been friendly and fun to hang out with. As someone who tends to be an introvert when it comes to meeting new people I believe I have been handling this adventure quite well. I was also able to meet up with my friends Tim and Maggie who have been studying at LSE for lunch and plan to see them again Friday. It was nice to see two friends and familiar faces that you haven’t seen for a while.
Another study abroad student here in the informatics department has turned me onto a website called http://www.interviewstreet.com as a way to get coding project ideas and keep on top of my game. As a programmer I enjoy coding, but I’ve always struggled with having the creativity to come up with project ideas and this is the perfect solution.
Before the semester gets too busy I really need to get back in the groove of C++ for the coming summer and this will certainly help. I will also continue to develop my iOS application that I started last semester.
The great emacs vs. Vim debate has also come up again. I think I am once again leaning towards Vim after a conversation I had with the guy that told me about interviewstreet. Sorry Dr. Kruk but I’m a minimalist. I shall enjoy the debate that will ensue in the comments over this.

Glad I made it onto your blog! Congrats with your progress and ease of getting into the swing of things in London. See you Friday!
